Why cheap websites exist

Why you should avoid cheap website services

We have all heard of cheap website options online, or in searches while trying to find a reputable company to design a business website. However, cheap websites aren’t always a good option. They’re even less of an option to consider when the website you need is for a business.

Why cheap websites are available in the market

Cheap websites are possible when a web designer does not care for the outcome of a project and is willing to make a quick buck at your dispense. That is the honest truth. These sites are generally created fast and with almost no thought process in mind, lacking key essentials parts of professional web design and web development. Professional website builds have structure and are planned out with competitive research in mind by someone with knowledge and education in marketing strategies. Professional business websites are also speed tested and optimized for ranking high on search engines like Google or Bing. This is usually performed by a designer with knowledge in (SEO) search engine optimization. But one thing professional website builders and web developers are not, is cheap.

Cheap websites exist because there are some web designers that care more for the amount of website projects, they get than the quality of work they produce. Also, most of these designers are beginners in their field and use free or cheap pre-existing website templates to setup websites.

What are free or cheap website templates

Website templates only need to be installed via WordPress. Once installed, which takes only a few minutes, the designer drops in the content of your website and they’ve essentially charged you for a website build that took them no preparation, research, or skill to create.

Furthermore, many of these offers come with claims to provide free SEO. Because most people have little or no understanding of what SEO really is, they often fall victim to these sales schemes. SEO is not cheap.

Understanding what SEO is?

SEO comes in 2 forms, on-site SEO and off-site SEO. On-site SEO is everything done within a website to facilitate web traffic and higher search rankings.

Off-site SEO is everything done outside of your website to bring web traffic into the site. Both, work hand in hand but are in no way the same. Also, because of the knowledge required to do both on-site and off-site SEO, it is unlikely for either to be included in a $300 build, for example. Yet there are those that claim to offer it, so be prepared to test them on what’s included with your cheap website build.

Cheap websites live up to their name

Building a professional business website is a critical part of expanding or growing a business and it should not be taken lightly. It is the online equivalent of establishing a brick-and-mortar business. Perhaps even more so because it would have the potential of reaching countless customers online and their first impression when they go to your website will determine if they shop there, that is just a fact!

Affordable vs Cheap

Choosing to go the cheap route may be a business decision you regret later. Keep in mind not going cheap does not mean you have to go expensive either. There are many web designers and web developers that have the knowledge and skill to build a great business website without braking the bank.
