4 SEO strategies that help drive traffic to your website

SEO Strategies #1 – Having A Well Optimized Website

Everyone has heard of website optimization by now and if you haven’t, it’s about time you familiarize yourself with what it means and how it affects your online business. Implementing an effective SEO strategy can greatly increase your ROI.

An optimized website is a website that is error free by Google standards. Meaning no coding errors or hard to read or find website content. It provides a great user experience and by that I don’t mean that it looks pretty, although visual appeal is a bonus. User experience has to do with ease of readability. How well does your website convey the content or product you are advertising? Is your content engaging and does it meet the user’s search criteria? Is your website easy to navigate, load properly, and glitch free?

An optimized website also needs optimized content. You might think this means the same thing, but it doesn’t. Optimized content has to do with the size of photos, the length of text on a page and the use of supporting keywords to help identify your page’s identity from the rest of the website.

Optimized website content helps search engines find and index your content for google searches and Optimized websites help increase desktop and mobile website load speeds, which in turn help rank websites higher on search engines. Mobile website speed is primarily important for search engines because more people search the web on their mobile phones than on their desktop computers.

SEO Strategies #2 - Researching Profitable keywords

Now, if you’ve heard about SEO surely, you’ve also heard about keyword research. This is an extensive topic to get into and most people have heard that they need Keyword Research, but they don’t know or understand why. Let me briefly explain this a bit so that you understand the concept of SEO and what it actually does for you.

Most merchant giants (people in the biz for years with top marketing dollars) usually run marketing ads on Google or social medias continuously through Pay-Per-Click ads. You know they are ads in Google searches because they usually have an (Ad) symbol in the front of every search that is generated. If you are a new company and have limited marketing dollars to invest, competing with these companies that can afford a 100 clicks per day at $3-$50 per Click, can seem like an impossible task. Especially when only 2%-5% of those clicks are expected to convert into actually paying customers.

SEO keyword searches, on the other hand, show up right under the paid ads section of Google searches and generally are more relatable than paid ads. This is because their content has to be precise, unlike with Paid Ads. SEO does not use Pay-Per-Click as an option. It stands for Search Engine Optimization and its primary goal is to increase website traffic through organic searches; better known as (non-paid) searches.

SEO specialist do keyword research to identify trending and marketable keywords to use in blogs, website pages, back links, newsletters, social medias and so on. These keywords usually have a Higher Cost per Click (CPC) with a lower SEO Difficulty (SD). Meaning people are searching these words and companies are paying top dollar to rank for them. However, the chances for ranking organically are higher due to low SEO competition. They generate a higher return on investment (ROI) than paid ads because they are targeted keywords linked to pages with keyword rich content.

Unlike Pay-Per-Click ads, that can generate clicks for a particular topic and when clicked on, may lead you to a different search or website content than what you searched for, SEO searches provide the reader or visitor with a precise answer to what he or she is looking for.

SEO Strategies #3 – Integrating Keyword Rich Content into Your Pages

This strategy is very important because it involves more than just dropping a keyword you want to rank for into your website content. Keyword rich content is formed when the surrounding keywords and supporting content highlight the keyword or words you are trying to rank for. Your page titles need to support your keyword, your content needs to support your keyword, your internal and external links need to support your keyword and your images need to support your keyword.

SEO Strategies #4 – Establishing Backlinks to Your Website

You may be thinking, this seems easy enough if I want to do this for myself, but I assure you; SEO is not a precise science. In addition to an Optimized website, Keyword research and content rich pages, your website must have a Domain Authority (DA) of at least 25 or higher for Google to trust the content you are trying to rank for. Your Domain Authority is increased over time by establishing meaningful backlinks to your content. Back-links are clickable links created under high-ranking websites that link back to your website or keyword rich content pages. Over time these back-links buildup your domain popularity with Google and other search engines, also known as your Domain Authority; pushing your content pages to the top of Google searches.
